Mobile robots rated to operate at 70 °C or above for a foundry AMR

Asked as: “Our AMR will run next to furnaces in a foundry. Which mobile robots are rated to operate at 70 °C or above?”

Answered by the Rapidflare agent

Two mobile robots are rated to operate at 70 °C or above: the ArmorBionic NONI 300 and NONI 500. Both are rated for 85 °C.

  • Both are utility AMRs for intralogistics. They use FALCON VISION navigation, and their sensors include 3D LiDAR, ultrasonic sensors and depth cameras. armorbioni... +1armorbionic.io ↗“utility cognitive AMR for intralogistics with a 300 kg payload class, FALCON VISION navigation”armorbionic.io ↗“utility cognitive AMR for intralogistics with a 500 kg payload class, FALCON VISION navigation”
  • The only difference between them is size class: the NONI 300 carries 300 kg and weighs 120 kg, and the NONI 500 carries 500 kg and weighs 160 kg. armorbioni... +1armorbionic.io ↗“robot.payload_kg=300 kg”armorbionic.io ↗“robot.payload_kg=500 kg”

What I couldn't confirm:

  • Other mobile robots: We list 16 mobile robots, and most of them don't state a maximum operating temperature. I can't say whether any of those could handle 70 °C, so they aren't included above.
  • Conditions for the 85 °C rating: No condition (such as airflow or power mode) is stated, so I can't say what has to be true for the 85 °C rating to apply.
  • Conditions near a furnace: Spots right next to a furnace can get hotter than the general room temperature. That includes radiant heat and short bursts of high heat, and I couldn't find a rating for either. It's worth checking your actual worst-case temperatures against the 85 °C rating with ArmorBionic.
  • Dust protection: IP44 is the rating these robots have. I couldn't find a dust or particulate rating beyond that for foundry use.
