Jetson developer kit with the most CPU cores

Asked as: “Which Jetson developer kit has the most CPU cores? Our SLAM stack is heavily CPU-bound.”

Answered by the Rapidflare agent

The Jetson AGX Thor Developer Kit has the most CPU cores of any Jetson developer kit, with 14. Next is the Jetson AGX Orin Developer Kit 64GB with 12 cores. developer... +1developer.nvidia.com ↗“compute.cpu_cores=14”nvidia.com ↗“compute.cpu_cores=12”

Notes for a CPU-bound SLAM stack:

  • AGX Thor Dev Kit: 14 CPU cores, 128 GB of LPDDR5X memory and 273 GB/s of memory bandwidth, with a 40–130 W power envelope. It's built for humanoid and robotics prototyping. developer... +2developer.nvidia.com ↗“memory.memory_bandwidth_gb_per_s=273”developer.nvidia.com ↗“power.power_envelope=40-130 W”developer.nvidia.com ↗“for humanoid/robotics prototyping”
  • AGX Orin 64GB Dev Kit: 12 CPU cores, 64 GB of LPDDR5 memory and 204.8 GB/s of memory bandwidth, with a 15–60 W power envelope. It can also emulate all Orin modules, so you could test how your SLAM stack might run on smaller Orin parts. nvidia.com +2nvidia.com ↗“memory.memory_bandwidth_gb_per_s=204.8”nvidia.com ↗“power.power_envelope=15-60 W”nvidia.com ↗“emulates all Orin modules”
  • Older kits: the AGX Xavier, Xavier NX, Nano and TX2 dev kits are all listed as EOL. developer... +3developer.nvidia.com ↗“identity.lifecycle_status=EOL”developer.nvidia.com ↗“identity.lifecycle_status=EOL”developer.nvidia.com ↗“identity.lifecycle_status=EOL”developer.nvidia.com ↗“identity.lifecycle_status=EOL”

I only have core counts for these kits. I couldn't find CPU clock speeds or per-core performance figures, so it's worth benchmarking your SLAM pipeline on the hardware before you decide. NVIDIA's IGX developer kits are a separate product line and aren't included above.
